Hi everybody,

For those of you who don't know, my name is Tyler Mott & I was just elected as the new Chairman of the Pima County Young Republican Club during our January 10th meeting. I am honored by this opportunity & strongly believe that this will be a great year for Republicans in Arizona & nationally. The other club members elected to help lead our club are Michael Cole as Vice Chairman, Absalom Hall as Treasurer, and Kevin Hartung as Secretary.

We have exciting plans for this coming Election year & we have a lot of work to do. With a Presidential Election, an election for US Senate, a number of Congressional seats up for grabs, new State Legislative Districts to fight for, and a number of county and other elections, our candidates need as much help as we can give them. It's going to take a lot of work, and the Pima County YRs plan to have a very busy year that will allow for our members to actively engage in this election cycle.

We are starting things very early this year due to the tragic events of last year's shooting in Tucson that killed 6 innocent people and wounded 19 others including the critical injuries suffered by Congressman Gabrielle Giffords. Rep. Giffords has decided to step aside to focus on her recovery. We hope the best for her and her family and pray that she can fully recover. The effects of that madman's rampage will be felt here for a very, very long time. Rep. Giffords' resignation means that we will have an early Special Election to replace her in Congress.

The YRs will be inviting the Republican candidates for Congressional District 8 the opportunity to share their positions with our members, and we hope that they will all be able to join us at one of our upcoming meetings. I will get you all more details as I have them.

We had invited former State Senate President Russell Pearce to speak at our January meeting, but he had unforeseen events that forced him to have to reschedule. Senator Pearce is tentatively slated to be our main invited speaker at our February 20th meeting. I will be getting all of the details out in the next couple days for everyone.

On a final note, I encourage everyone to come back here to our blog & to visit our website www.pimayrs.com often to be able to see updates from the club. We will be updating both of these very soon & as often as possible.

It's always nice when we can put a local spin on things. I liked this video of a recent protest against Obama's Destruction of American Healthcare Bill.

I like how they are using the Dem "mob" attack against the Dems. This video shows just how ridiculous that attack is. I also liked Sean Hannity's idea of all conservatives giving themselves a good mobster nickname. I think that I will call myself "Tommy Gun Tyler."

Obama, Chavez, Hillary & Castro

Hey everybody, I’m back from my initial training with the United States Army & I promise to post on here more often in the future.

For my first post since returning from military training, I feel that it’s important to talk about the very fragile situation down in Honduras.

It seems that our President & Secretary of State have come down on the side of the two most repressive dictators in the Western Hemisphere.

Here's a little background. As many of you know, Hugo Chavez is the extreme socialist thug, who wanted to be President for life of Venezuela in order to spread communism across Latin America. Chavez also had a friend and socialist ally in Honduras who also liked the idea of being Honduran President for life. So, the thug in Honduras, Manuel Zeyala, decided to force his way into being President for life by pushing a ballot initiative to change to the Honduran Constitution. The Honduran Supreme Court then ruled Zeyala's referendum was unconstitutional since any major constitutional changes in Honduras must be originated by the elected assembly.

But in an act meant to destabilize the entire democracy in Honduras, Zeyala tried to force the military to hold the referendum anyway. When Honduras' commanding general refused to go against the ruling made by the Honduras Supreme Court, Zeyala fired the general. The Supreme Court then ordered that the military detain Zeyala due to Zeyala’s attempts to overthrow Honduran democracy & push for his own authoritarian rule. Sunday morning, troops followed the orders of the Honduran Supreme Court & detained Zeyala. Mr. Zeyala then asked to receive safe passage to Costa Rica instead of standing trial for his crimes against the democracy of Honduras. This safe passage was granted & then once safely inside Costa Rica, Mr. Zeyala began to cry that he was the victim of a coup d'etat. We know this is not at all what took place.

Once Zeyala was removed from office the Honduran Assembly voted to chose its Speaker as the new interim President of Honduras. The new President is also a member of Zeyala’s political party so this was not some kind of partisan attack. This was a defense of continuing democracy in Honduras. As such, the new President immediately announced that the Presidential Election scheduled for this fall would go on as planned with no changes to allow for candidates to remain in power indefinitely as Zeyala had desired. It was an absolutely bloodless & necessary dismissal of a Head of State who no longer believed in the institutions of democracy & the rule of law.

Now comes the liberal establishment of the world & those who support socialism, communism & other left-leaning authoritarian regimes. They are crying foul. They believe that the crime in this situation was the deposing of Zeyala & not the true crime which was Zeyala's quest to end democracy in Honduras.

Who has echoed this cry? The loudest voice has been the psychopath Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez. And he has been followed by the brutal Castro brothers in Cuba. The words of Chavez & the Castros have been regurgitated by their American media allies, the New York Times & the Washington Post.

But who else has condemned the ouster of the wannabe Honduran dictator? Well, our very own Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, did. And so did our President Barack "BIG GOVERNMENT" Obama. Once again, Obama comes down on the wrong side. You can tell a lot about a person by the company that person keeps. And if I were Obama, I would think long & hard about whether or not being on the same side as Hugo Chavez & Fidel Castro was a good thing.

The positions of President Obama & Sec. Clinton are irresponsible & dangerous & further flame the fire of the communist trio of Chavez & the Castro brothers. We cannot support the forms of government that these men espouse. In making statements against what has happened in Honduras without considering all of the facts, we endanger struggling democracies in the entire hemisphere.

How can President Government ask that we hold judgment on the ayatollahs in Iran when he refuses to hold judgment on the Honduran Congress, Honduran Supreme Court & the thousands of Hondurans who have been protesting Zeyala's brutal tactics & his authoritarian power grab?

I would hope that if any American President tried to change the length of his or her term in office 5 months before he or she became ineligible for re-election that there would be an outcry from the international community & support for the people at home who would see right through this.

What exactly do we do at a state convention, well we elect our state leaders for the next 2 years. Our State Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Committeeman, and Committeewoman. We also vote on any changes to the State Constitution.

It takes place May 2 at 1pm at Pima County Republican Headquarters on 5th and Craycroft.

It should be over by 3pm.

President Obama made the first move to greet Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez, but it was the acerbic and anti-American leader who beat Obama to the punch on the World Wide Web.

In a clear indication Chavez sought to leverage his brief encounter with Obama at the opening ceremonies of the fifth Summit of the Americas here, Chavez's government Web site almost immediately posted a photo of the two leaders and a government-approved commentary in Spanish that read as follows:

"Before the Inaugural session of the 5th Summit of the Americas, the President of the United States approached President Chavez to greet him. They both drew their hands in a historic handshake after many years of tension under the Bush administration, when relations between Washington and Caracas had deteriorated. President Chavez expressed to Obama his desire for changes in the relations between the two countries. Eight years ago I greeted President Bush with this same hand. I'd like to be your friend."

It took the White House almost three hours to confirm the handshake. As of 9:20 p.m. EST there was no indication the White House intended to release any photos. A senior administration official declined to describe the leaders' glancing conversation, but did not dispute the Venezuelan government's account.

Late Friday, Obama told reporters he said to Chavez: "Como Esta?" (How are you?)

The two men met in the Jade Room of the Hyatt hotel in downtown Port-of-Spain. It was there Obama also shook hands with Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega.

Tea Party Sign Making Party

Exciting news. KVOA 4 local news wants to film a sign making party for a segment they will be playing on Friday.

We have gone ahead and organized one for tomorrow, THURSDAY, APRIL 9. It will start at 6 p.m.

It will be downtown at La Entrada Apartments, 255 N Granada Ave, Apartment 1049 near the main office.

There is plenty of metered parking along the nearby side streets, which is all free after five.

Feel free to come by! We will have materials, but please bring some of your own as well!

This is a great opportunity to show the news media what we are all about, so be there! Let me know if you plan on attending!

Hi Everyone

I am needing lots of help for the upcoming Tea Party event happening on Wednesday April 15 at El Presido Park in downtown Tucson from 9am-2pm. If everyone could bring a case of water or soda to our monthly meeting on Monday that would really help a lot. This is a great fundraiser for our club. I do not want to have to use club funds to buy water or soda. I promise you we will make a lot of money at this event and also need your help that day selling the beverages.

Also if you don't have plans yet for this Friday after work. Local radio station 104.1 the Truth is celebrating there 2nd Anniversary on the air at AT THE MONSOON ROOM IN DESERT DIAMOND CASINO address is 7350 S Nogales Hwy, Tucson, AZ‎

It starts at 5pm if you want to carpool or want to meet me and a couple other people I know are going give me a call at 248-1258. Tim Bee and Frank Antienori will be there among others. Good chance to thank 1041 for being a local voice in our community.

Our Big Event in April is the Tea Party Tax Revolt on April 15. It is going to be a fun event with speakers and music and fun and showing Washington and Tucson about the money they have been waisting on stupid projects. It is taking place at El Presido Park by the Courthouse in downtown Tucson from 9am-2pm. Bring tea bags to send to DC. Stop by when you have time.

As for other news within the club. I found out that one of our members is going to be expecting twins in August. Rebecca and Ed Esposito will be expecting twin girls sometime in August. The hottest month in Tucson. Good Luck Rebecca. I have Rebecca's address and if anyone wants to go in on a gift I will be collecting money for them at the next meeting. This is there first time have kids.

o The VA Hospital service project is tabled until the club hears from Hannah.
o Justin spoke about helping out district chairs. Our focus for the next month will be LD 26. Patti Comerford is running and needs help for the upcoming election (3/10).
o Mike discussed his visit with the College Republicans.
o Justin spoke about future fundraising projects.
 First, the club would like to sponsor a First Friday event. We would borrow $500 (for the sponsorship) from the county party and pay them back with money earned at the event. We would want to focus on “Why conservatism is cool”—in so many words. Members think September will be a good month to sponsor this even.
 Second, the club would like to host our own “Vegas Night.” Members think October would be a good time to promote the young face of conservatism—right before November. Members were asked to think about venues other than the Manning House. Christopher volunteered to DJ the event.
o The group also discussed having a “fun” activity in March. Mike is looking into going to a shooting range. Other ideas were bowling or wall climbing.
o Next, the group discussed subcommittees and asked members to consider serving on the following:

SURPRISE! Dems Break Promise: Stimulus Bill to Floor Friday

In a press conference Thursday, the House Republican leadership spoke candidly about being kept out of the House-Senate conference on the Obama-Pelosi-Reid so-called “economic stimulus” bill. They confirmed they had not yet seen the text of the bill as of 4 p.m.

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he was unsure how many Democrats would vote with Republicans again on this bill but that he thought Republicans “may get a few” Democrats to side with them. The fact that the Demos have now broken their promise to have the public able to see the bill for 48 hours may drive more Dems into the Republican camp.

“[I] don’t know, ‘cause they haven’t seen the bill either,” Boehner said.

“The American people have a right to know what’s in this bill,” Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind) told HUMAN EVENTS after the press conference. “Every member of Congress -- Republicans and Democrats -- voted to post this bill on the internet for 48 hours, 48 hours ago. We’ll see if the Democrats keep their word.”

Actually -- as of 5:15 pm, the Democrats had broken their word. The stimulus bill -- which we still haven’t seen -- will be released late tonight and will be brought up on the House floor at 9 am tomorrow.

The following statement was released by Majority Leader Steny Hoyer at 4:57 p.m.:

"The House is scheduled to meet at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow and is expected to proceed directly to consideration of the American Recovery and Reinvestment conference report. The conference report text will be filed this evening, giving members enough time to review the conference report before voting on it tomorrow afternoon."

Meanwhile, at an earlier presser Thursday, Pelosi -- while talking about legislation regarding school construction funds -- said it was vital to see the language of a bill before making decisions. ReadtheStimulus.org had the following quote:

“With all of this you have to see the language. You said this --- I said that --- I understood it to be this way --- you know, we wanted to see it in writing and when we did that then we were able to go forward."

"Around here language means a lot. Words weigh a ton and one person's understanding of a spoken description might vary from another's. We wanted to see it. And not only just I had to see it, I had to show it to my colleagues and my caucus. We wanted to take all the time that was necessary to make sure it was right."

Congressional members are also exchanging barbs via the popular social network Twitter. Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) twittered, "Don't know when we're going to vote. Will the no votes delay vote just because they can? Speed is important. They know that."

House Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) twittered back, “Those in favor of speed over commonsense may just be afraid of letting the People know what they are ramming through.”

UPDATE: The Democrats finally made the bill's language available around 11 p.m. Thursday, approximately 10 hours before members meet Friday to consider the bill and 38 hours short of the time promised Americans to review the bill.

The Republican Party chose the first black national chairman in its history Friday, just shy of three months after the nation elected a Democrat as the first African-American president. The choice marked no less than "the dawn of a new party," declared the new GOP chairman, former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele. Republicans chose Steele over four other candidates, including former President George W. Bush's hand-picked GOP chief, who bowed out declaring, "Obviously the winds of change are blowing."

Steele takes the helm of a beleaguered Republican Party that is trying to recover after crushing defeats in November's national elections that gave Democrats control of Congress put Barack Obama in the White House.

GOP delegates erupted in cheers and applause when his victory was announced, but it took six ballots to get there. He'll serve a two-year term.

Steele, an attorney, is a conservative, but he was considered the most moderate of the five candidates running.
He was also considered an outsider because he's not a member of the Republican National Committee. But the 168-member RNC clearly signaled it wanted a change after eight years of Bush largely dictating its every move as the party's standard-bearer.

Steele became the first black candidate elected to statewide office in Maryland in 2002, and he made an unsuccessful Senate run in 2006. The former chairman of the Maryland Republican Party currently serves as chairman of GOPAC, an organization that recruits and trains Republican political candidates, and in that role he has been a frequent presence on the talk show circuit.

He vowed to expand the reach of the party by competing for every group, everywhere.

"We're going to say to friend and foe alike: 'We want you to be a part of us, we want you to with be with us.' And for those who wish to obstruct, get ready to get knocked over," Steele said.

"There is not one inch of ground that we're going to cede to anybody," he added.
"This is the dawn of a new party moving in a new direction with strength and conviction."

His job is to spark a revival for the GOP as it takes on an empowered Democratic Party under the country's first black president in the next midterm elections and beyond.

He replaces Mike Duncan, who abandoned his re-election bid in the face of dwindling support midway through Friday's voting.

Two others who trailed farther back in the voting eventually followed suit, former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell and Michigan GOP chairman Saul Anuzis.

In the sixth and final round of voting, Steele went head-to-head with his only remaining opponent, South Carolina GOP chief Katon Dawson. Steele clinched the election with 91 votes; a majority of 85 committee members was needed.
Just eight years after Republicans controlled both the White House and Congress, the GOP finds itself out of power, without a standard-bearer and trying to figure out how to rebound while its foe seems to grow ever stronger.

The Democratic Party boasts a broadened coalition of voters - including Hispanics and young people - who swung behind Obama's call for change. At the same time, the slice of voters who call themselves Republican has narrowed. The GOP also has watched as Democrats have dominated both coasts while making inroads into the West and South, leaving Republicans with a shrunken base.

Despite the run of GOP losses, Duncan had argued that he should be re-elected because of his experience; his five challengers called for change and said they represented it.

As he left the race, Duncan thanked Bush and said of his two-year tenure: "It truly has been the highlight of my life."

Another candidate, former Tennessee GOP Chairman Chip Saltsman, withdrew from the race on the eve of voting and with no explanation, saying only in a letter to RNC members, "I have decided to withdraw my candidacy."

Saltsman, who ran former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee's failed presidential campaign last year, saw his bid falter in December after he drew controversy for mailing to committee members a CD that included a song titled "Barack the Magic Negro" by conservative comedian Paul Shanklin and sung to the music of "Puff, the Magic Dragon."

Sasha and Malia, we were seven when our beloved grandfather was sworn in as the 41st President of the United States. We stood proudly on the platform, our tiny hands icicles, as we lived history. We listened intently to the words spoken on Inauguration Day service, duty, honor. But being seven, we didn't quite understand the gravity of the position our Grandfather was committing to. We watched as the bands marched by -- the red, white, and blue streamers welcoming us to a new role: the family members of a President.

We also first saw the White House through the innocent, optimistic eyes of children. We stood on the North Lawn gazing with wonder at her grand portico. The White House was alive with devoted and loving people, many of whom had worked in her halls for decades. Three of the White House ushers, Buddy, Ramsey, and "Smiley", greeted us when we stepped into her intimidating hallway. Their laughter and embraces made us feel welcome right away. Sasha and Malia, here is some advice to you from two sisters who have stood where you will stand and who have lived where you will live:

-- Surround yourself with loyal friends. They'll protect and calm you and join in on some of the fun, and appreciate the history.

-- If you're traveling with your parents over Halloween, don't let it stop you from doing what you would normally do. Dress up in some imaginative, elaborate costume (if you are like us a pack of Juicy Fruit and a Vampiress) and trick-or-treat down the plane aisle.

-- If you ever need a hug, go find Ramsey. If you want to talk football, look for Buddy. And, if you just need a smile, look for "Smiley."

-- And, a note on White House puppies--our sweet puppy Spot was nursed on the lawn of the White House. And then of course, there's Barney, who most recently bit a reporter. Cherish your animals because sometimes you'll need the quiet comfort that only animals can provide.

-- Slide down the banister of the solarium, go to T-ball games, have swimming parties, and play Sardines on the White House lawn. Have fun and enjoy your childhood in such a magical place to live and play.

-- When your dad throws out the first pitch for the Yankees, go to the game.

-- In fact, go to anything and everything you possibly can: the Kennedy Center for theater, State Dinners, Christmas parties (the White House staff party is our favorite!), museum openings, arrival ceremonies, and walks around the monuments. Just go. Four years goes by so fast, so absorb it all, enjoy it all!

For four years, we spent our childhood holidays and vacations in the historic house. We could almost feel the presence of all the great men and women who had lived here before us. When we played house, we sat behind the East sitting room's massive curtains as the light poured in illuminating her yellow walls. Our seven-year-old imaginations soared as we played in the enormous, beautiful rooms; our dreams, our games, as romantic as her surroundings. At night, the house sang us quiet songs through the chimneys as we fell asleep.

In late December, when snow blanketed the front lawn, all of our cousins overtook the White House. Thirteen children between the ages of two and 12 ran throughout her halls, energized by the crispness in the air and the spirit of the season. Every room smelled of pine; the entire house was adorned with thistle; garlands wound around every banister. We sat on her grand staircase and spied on the holiday dancing below. Hours were spent playing hide-and-go-seek. We used a stage in the grand ballroom to produce a play about Santa and his reindeer. We watched as the National Christmas Tree was lit and admired the chef as he put the final icing on the gingerbread house.

When it was time, we left the White House. We said our goodbyes to her and to Washington. We weren't sure if we would spend time among her historical walls again, or ever walk the National Mall, admiring the cherry blossoms that resembled puffs of cotton candy. But we did return. This time we were 18. The White House welcomed us back and there is no doubt that it is a magical place at any age.

As older girls, we were constantly inspired by the amazing people we met, politicians and great philosophers like Vaclav Havel. We dined with royalty, heads of states, authors, and activists. We even met the Queen of England and managed to see the Texas Longhorns after they won the National Championship. We traveled with our parents to foreign lands and were deeply moved by what we saw. Trips to Africa inspired and motivated us to begin working with HIV/AIDS and the rights of women and children all over the world.

Now, the White House ballrooms were filled with energy and music as we danced. The East sitting room became a peaceful place to read and study. We ran on the track in the front lawn, and squared off in sisterly bowling duels down in the basement alley.

This Christmas, with the enchanting smell of the holidays encompassing her halls, we will again be saying our good-byes to the White House. Sasha and Malia, it is your turn now to fill the White House with laughter.

And finally, although it's an honor and full of so many extraordinary opportunities, it isn't always easy being a member of the club you are about to join. Our dad, like yours, is a man of great integrity and love; a man who always put us first. We still see him now as we did when we were seven: as our loving daddy. Our Dad, who read to us nightly, taught us how to score tedious baseball games. He is our father, not the sketch in a paper or part of a skit on TV. Many people will think they know him, but they have no idea how he felt the day you were born, the pride he felt on your first day of school, or how much you both love being his daughters. So here is our most important piece of advice: remember who your dad really is.

The meeting was called to order by current Chairman Tyler Mott. It was decided to spend $50 on the upcoming Holiday Party scheduled for January 3, 2009 at Michael Cole House.
It will be a potluck party with Mike providing the main course.

I just wanted to remind everybody about our last Pima YRs meeting of 2008. The meeting will be held today, Monday, December 15 @ 7 pm @ Shogun Sushi on the northeast corner of Oracle & River Rds.

We are scheduled to have our club officer elections for Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary & Treasurer for next year. If anybody is still interested in running for any of these positions, please let Tyler Mott know ASAP.

In order to vote in Club elections, a club member needs to pay their next year dues before we actually hold votes on any positions. I will have a copy of the Club Constitution & By-Laws to consult if any other issues arise. This is just some fun food for thought.

A new documentary filmmaker is making a documentary called "How Obama Got Elected" with interviews showing what Obama voters actually knew about Senator Government before they decided to elect him President. The documentary also shows how the media may have been responsible for directing people's opinions of the candidates. Some of the answers are really quite comical, but it is sad. Of course, I'm sure that you could find some pretty uniformed McCain voters too, but John Zogby recently ran a poll that showed just how uninformed Obama voters really were. My favorite part is when almost all interviewees say that Sarah Palin was the one who said that she campaigned in 57 states with only one to go. Of course, the person who said that was Barack Obama & he's about to become President of the United States.

The Pima County Young Republican Club is excited to announce our first post-election meeting where we can get together & discuss the results of the November 4, 2008 election.

There was a lot that didn't go our way on Election Day, but there was also a lot that did. In Arizona, Republicans actually gained seats in both houses of the State Legislature. And this is very encouraging. It also appears that our governor, Janet Napolitano, might be taking a job with the Obama Administration, so we no longer have to deal with her vetoing good legislation every time it makes its way to her desk. And in one of the most important developments on Election Day, Amendments protecting the definition of marriage passed in Arizona, California, and in Florida.

Our meeting will take place at its normal location, Shogun Sushi, on the northeast corner of Oracle & River Rds. The meeting will be held on Monday, November 24 & will begin @ 7 pm.

Joining us at our meeting as a special guest will be former State Representative Randy Graf, who also ran twice for Congress in CD8. He will give his analysis of how events unfolded, along with his opinions of what the Republican Party needs to do in order to move forward. Some Republicans, such as California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, have suggested that the Republican Party needs to abandon its conservative principles in order to win future elections. This will be one of the topics of discussion at our meeting.

The meeting will be a time to reflect & a time to plan how we will move forward as a Club & as a Party. With Democrats holding large majorities in both the US House & Senate, it is important that Arizona remain a conservative refuge. We want to do our part to ensure this.

Please be true! Janet Napolitano might be leaving Arizona for job with Obama Admin

If press reports are true, Arizonans can breathe easily for the first time in years. Governor Janet Napolitano looks like she will finally be leaving us alone. She appears to be the pick of President-elect Government for his Secretary of Homeland Security.

Now, the good part: what this means to us is that Arizona Secretary of State Jan Brewer, a Republican, will become Governor of Arizona! With Republican gains in both houses of the State Legislature and some of our more liberal Republicans being replaced by more Conservative Republicans, this is great news for everybody.

All of Napolitano's ridiculous vetoes of the previous 5 1/2 years will be a thing of the past. We will no longer have a person like Napolitano who is staunchly pro-abortion vetoing common sense abortion restrictions at the state level.

Napolitano's opposition to common sense border security policies can no longer be blamed on the federal government either. She will either have to do the right thing and upset her illegal alien base by enforcing strong border security policies or do what we think she will, which is nothing & show that she is really part of the problem.

Her budgets disasters will also be a thing of the past. Arizona will have true conservative governance once again! There is a light at the end of the tunnel. And today starts a new day.

Happy days are here again!

It seems like we here in Arizona might be the only beneficiaries to this year's election results anywhere in America. Good riddance Janet. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

The loyal opposition to President-elect Government begins

Well, the election is over & I have to report that we woke up today & everything was still ok. When Democrats lost in 2000, 2002 & 2004, many of them were severely depressed. Some were even suicidal. And of course, many cried about Republicans somehow magicly stealing the elections. Republicans have always been more mature than that. Our lives don't depend on the government & with Senator Government now President-elect Government, we will still be ok.

We will support the new President-elect whenever he is right on an issue & we will bitterly oppose him whenever he is wrong on issues. Republicans are now the loyal opposition. We will fight & we will fight hard. The last thing that I feel today is depressed.

I am actually quite releaved. As usual, the Democrats made a major strategic blunder by setting their expectations too high. They over promised & underperformed. Most importantly, there will be no filibuster-proof US Senate. Democrats will likely have somewhere between 56-58 Senators. That is well short of the 60 needed to avoid filibusters.

Also, the great news from yesterday included the fact that Proposition 102 passed in Arizona placing a ban on gay marriage in the Arizona Constition. This went along with a victory for Proposition 8 in California which also passed and reversed the judicial fiat that had forced gay marriage on Californians just a few months ago. There should be no right to marry for people who believe that they are gay. Marriage is a privelegde & is a covenant between three parties: a man, his wife & God. A Constitutional ban on gay marriage also passed in Florida where it needed to receive over 60% of the vote.

In other good news from yesterday, Democrats in the State Legislature had been openly clamoring about the possibility of Democrats gaining control of both houses of the Arizona State Legislature. But instead of that happening, Republicans gained seats! And conservatives replaced some of the more liberal Republicans who had retired from the State Legislature.

I will go over these races soon, but in regard to Obama's victory, there is a strong posibility that liberal Democrat Governor Janet Napolitano will join an Obama Administration and leave us in Arizona alone finally. If Napolitano leaves, it is highly unlikely that she will run for US Senate against John McCain in 2010. And with the State Legislature becoming more Republican & more conservative, it is even more likely that Napolitano will take a job for Obama in order to avoid a more hostile State Legislature. If Napolitano does resign for Governor, then Republican Secretary of State Jan Brewer will become Arizona's next Governor & we Republicans will have almost full control of state government once again.

In other words, there were many things that should make a person happy about yesterday's election results. If anyone is still feeling down, cheer up because we have an amazing line up of talented individuals who are now ready to lead the Republican Party back to the White House in 2012!

And many of these candidates have talked at our meetings.

The last big, big race is for Pima County Supervisor in District 3. We need to get Barney Brenner elected to the board. That will give Republicans the majority on the board & should give us the advantage when redistricting comes around after the next Census. Barney has asked for our help & I will be helping him on Election Day. Any of you who would also like to help with Barney's election, please let me know.

Pima YRs Endorses Arizona Ballot Propositions

The Pima County Young Republican Club has voted to endorse a number of ballot propositions & oppose a few others.

The following will be the list of endorsements. These endorsements in no way state that members of the club must vote one way or another & there were a couple endorsement votes that were not unanimous. I will note those as well in the comments section.

Proposition 100 – Yes: Unanimously supported by members who voted.

This proposition has the purpose of prohibiting new taxes on the sale or transfer of property.

Proposition 101 – Yes: Unanimously supported by members who voted.

This proposition makes it so that Arizona residents will never be forced to join any government health care plan.

Proposition 102 – Yes: Unanimously supported by members who voted.

To place language in the Arizona Constitution making marriage between one man & one woman the only legal marriages recognized in Arizona.

Proposition 105 – No:

Would require that in order to be funded ballot propositions must receive votes from a majority of registered voters. This might cause a burden so high that no initiative could even pass with 100% of the vote if only 49.9% of the people showed up to vote.

Proposition 200 – No:

This ballot proposition related to reforming the payday loan industry & continuing the charter of payday loan businesses which will run out in 2010. Many of our members thought that an issue as complicated as this should be left for the legislature to decide.

Proposition 201 – No:

Many of our members voiced opinions that this was a terrible idea that would lead to many frivolous lawsuits & could make it harder to buy homes & less likely for builders to see a benefit in building homes.

Proposition 202 – No: Unanimously opposed by members who voted.

This is an attempt by businesses that depend on illegal labor to weaken the employer sanctions laws passed by the State Legislature relating to the hiring of illegal aliens.

Proposition 300 – Yes: Unanimously supported by members who voted.

This relates to raising salaries of State Legislators from $24,000/year to $30,000. Our legislators get paid below the poverty line.

Senator Government: The Great Redistributor

Newly found audio has Barack Obama talking back in 2001 about how he wants to redistribute wealth & how he doesn't like the way the Founders set up the Constitution. It begs the question of how Obama expects to "protect & defend the Constitution of the United States" like the Presidential Oath of Office requires when he doesn't even like the Constitution that much.

Obama's continued support of infanticide

One of the most disturbing things about Barack Obama was that when he was in the Illinois State Legislature, he actually voted against a bill requiring that a baby who survived a botched abortion outside of the womb receive immediate emergency medical care.

He thinks that saving live born babies who were intended to be aborted somehow might hurt Roe v. Wade. Senator Government's position on this is disgusting. It is inhumane & repulsive. Here's a couple ads with a young lady who survived an abortion taking Obama to task on the issue.

Our meeting will be tomorrow, October 23 @ 7 pm @ El Charro Cafe downtown @ 311 N. Jonathan Paton is currently a member of the Arizona State House of Representatives & Rep. Paton is running to replace State Senator Tim Bee in the representing District 30 in the State Senate.

Rep. Paton became a veteran of the war in Iraq with his service there as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Army Reserves. By volunteering for service in Iraq, Rep. Paton is the only member of the State Legislature (and possibly any State Legislature) to serve in the Iraq War. Rep. Paton will speak about his military service, his service in the State House & his campaign for State Senate @ tomorrow's meeting.

5 possible crisis scenarios under Obama

Here's a video where Governor Sarah Palin lays out a list of 5 possible crisis scenarios that America is likely to face if it elects Senator Gov't to be President of the United States.

As I mentioned before, Joe Biden has guaranteed that electing Obama to be President will invite this unknown international crisis. That's just the kind of thing that we want to hear from a Vice Presidential candidate: "Vote for Us & Get International Crisis Within 6 Months." That should be a bumper sticker if it wasn't so scary.

Once again, Governor Palin hits this one out of the park. We cannot afford to have a President who invites international crisises.

And I've got one more theory. Obama & Biden are afraid that their policies will be so far to the left that the Country would immediately suffer through buyers remorse. So, Biden might have been warning his most liberal Seattle contributors that Obama was going to be forced to "wag the dog" in order to change the subject.

Now mark my words if this happens within 6 months of an Obama Presidency. Of course, I still believe that McCain is going to win because America can't be dumb enough to elect people who's main economic platform is income redistribution, a.k.a. socialism.

Scary Joe tries to scare us into remembering just how inexperienced Senator Government is when it comes to things that are important

Joe Biden, one of the dumbest, most out-of-control running mates ever selected by a Presidential candidate, tried to remind us on Sunday about just how inexperienced Senator Government, a.k.a. Barack Obama is. And Biden did so in a way that should scare that heck out of each of us!

This is what he said at a Seattle fundraiser on Sunday:

"Mark my words, It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47 year-old Senator President of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate, And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."

I must admit that I have no idea what Biden was saying about Obama, but it really terrifies me.

Will Obama be ready to be President & lead in that moment when he is most needed or will he just vote "Present?" Or is Biden saying that Obama will have caused such a massive problem only 6 months into his Presidency?

Biden, once again simplifies what this election is about. Can we trust someone who does not have the experience necessary to be the next Commander-In-Chief?

Whatever Biden's promise & guarantee is referring to, are we ready for a President who is already scheming about forcing something down the throats of even his most loyal supporters ?

John McCain beats "Senator Government" in Final Debate!

It was the 3rd time in as many meetings that McCain beat Obama in debate, and from here on out Obama will always be known as "Senator Government."

More Reason to Support Prop. 102!

There are many reasons to support traditional marriage, and this video with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council shows a few of those reasons. Prop 102 will do just that. This video shows what Massachusetts families have had to face since gay marriage was forced on the citizens of Massachusetts by judicial fiat.

And last week, it was in San Francisco that a school sponsored the field trip of 1st graders to watch their teacher get "married" to her lesbian partner. That was 5 & 6 year-olds being forced to watch the wedding of a lesbian couple for a public school field trip. I wish that I was making up this stuff. But sadly, it is true.

Marilyn Zerrull & Discussion of Ballot Propositions @ Tomorrow's Pima YR Meeting!

The Pima County Young Republican Club is proud to announce that Marilyn Zerull will be the speaker at our next meeting - TOMORROW!

Our meeting tomorrow evening, October 13, will begin @ 7 pm @ Shogun Sushi & feature Marilyn Zerull, who is a candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives in District 26. Our Republican candidates in District 26 are Marilyn Zerull & Vic Williams for the Arizona House of Representatives & Al Melvin for the Arizona State Senate.

Marilyn made it through the Primary Election despite having been forced to leave the State to attend to family affairs with the passing of her mother. Shortly after her victory in the Primary, Marilyn was forced to again mourn the death of a family member with the passing of her husband only days after the Election.

Alert: Connecticut Court forces gay marriage on people of Connecticut: WE NEED TO PASS PROP 102 TO PROTECT ARIZONA FAMILIES!

Connecticut became the 3rd anti-family & pro-homosexual marriage State in the nation today. With a 4-3 ruling the Connecticut Supreme Court invented out of thin air the right to marry for gay couples in that State.

Connecticut became the 3rd State in the nation to be forced by judicial fiat to recognize gay marriage. Connecticut joins Massachusetts & California as anti-family pro-gay marriage States.

The ruling further points to how important it is to pass Proposition 102 in Arizona this year. Prop. 102 is an Amendment to the Arizona Constitution that would make marriage between "one man and one woman."

California is also looking to overturn the liberal Justices who forced gay marriage upon Californians. Since voters across the country are appalled by gay marriage, pro-gay activists have used liberal courts to advance their twisted agenda. Passing the California Constitutional Amendment Proposition 8 to protect marriage this year will be of utmost importance.

As was discussed during our last meeting, the Pima County Young Republicans will be hosting debate watching parties for all three Presidential debates & for the lone Vice Presidential debate.

And in what could be the most exciting event yet of the 2008 Presidential campaign, Governor Sarah Palin, the groundbreaking Republican Nominee for Vice President of the United States, will compete in her first & only debate of this campaign cycle this Thursday, October 2.

Her opponent for the debate will be the blowhard Senator Joe Biden from the State of Delaware who was chosen as the Democratic Vice Presidential candidate by Barack Obama. Biden has already proven that he can make a gaffe almost every day on the campaign trail, which is why his Presidential campaign ended so early after he made terribly racist comments about Americans of Indian decent. Before dropping out of his Presidential bid, Biden also referred to his future running mate, Barack Obama, as "the first articulate, clean, & bright African American."

Now, just because Joe Biden constantly puts his foot in his mouth doesn't mean that Governor Palin can go into Thursday night's debate overconfident. In fact, most pundits are assuming that Senator Biden will mop the floor with Governor Palin due to Biden's extensive foreign policy experience. Most pundits aren't giving Governor Palin much of a chance at all!

With that said, the Pima County Young Republicans will be hosting a debate watchinig party to cheer Governor Palin onto victory. We will be meeting at the home of club Chair Tyler Mott, like we did for our successful 1st Presidential Debate Watching Party between Senators John McCain & Barack Obama.

I just received this important message from our YR State Chairman, Wil Westholm. Anyone who can make it to this coming Sunday's fundraising event for Barney Brenner, should really do everything in his or her power to attend. We need to do everything to support Barney in his race for Pima County Supervisor. This fundraising event will be an excellent opportunity to support Barney, especially since we are getting such a killer deal to be able to go & see Hugh Hewitt, one of the premier radio talk show hosts in America.

Here's the message from Wil (slightly edited):

I just got off the phone with Barney Brenner, and he is having an event with radio host Hugh Hewitt this coming Sunday, and he is willing to let YR's in on a special deal. Tickets for the event are normally $100, with VIP photo session included. However, he's willing to let YR's into the main event for $50- and that's either $50 of that person's own money or money raised for Barney's campaign. That's right... for every $50 we raise for Barney's campaign, we can get one YR into the Hugh Hewitt event. If someone finds a person willing to write a $390 check (the max allowed under campaign law for any individual contributor), we can get 8 YR's into the event. Checks, of course, are to be made out to Brenner For Supervisor.

If you can pass this info on to the rest of the group, Barney would really appreciate the support. If nothing else, it's a good chance to contribute to a worthy local political campaign and see a nationally-known radio host for a low price, or just a little fundraising effort. If the CR's are interested, they can get in on this too. We want to have as good a turnout as possible for Barney's sake... and ours.

Biden ashamed of Obama & Obama's campaign ads

On Monday, good ole' Joe was at it again. He is the gift that keeps on giving. But as the old saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

While talking to Katie Couric of CBSNews about the tenor of the campaign, Biden let loose on the Obama campaign and in turn on Obama himself. Couric specifically asked Biden about his thoughts on the ad making fun of Senator John McCain as old & technologically inept. The ad mocks John McCain for admitting that he didn't use a computer.

Obama has yet to appologize for the ad after realizing that McCain doesn't use a computer since McCain can't lift his arms to type without pain due to war wounds. In the interview with Couric, Biden admitted that he:

"thought that was terrible - by the way."

Couric went on to ask Biden about the campaign's production & decision to release the ad:

"Why'd you do it then?"

Biden's response was:

"I didn't know we did it & if I'd had known that we did it we'd have never done it. And I don' think that Barack - you know - I just think that was a..."

Then Couric interceded by asking:

"Did Barack Obama approve that ad? He said he did, right?"

Well, Obama has to be very happy about this. Biden goes way off message & shows that Biden is completely aloof as to how the campaign that he is on is being run.

In this, Biden goes even further by implying that either Obama is also completely unaware of how his campaign is being ran or that Obama is basically heartless for not realizing the the damage caused by this ad. Either way, it doesn't imply very good things about Obama.

I'm Tempted to switch my vote to Obama/Biden after this: Genius Biden promises tax cuts for TOASTERS!

After telling NBC's today show about Biden's bold toaster proposal, I think that I'm sold on the Obama/Biden Ticket! I just hope that along with toaster help, they will give me a few pop tarts. I'm also looking for a new soap holder for my shower, a new door stop & I think it was Rush Limbaugh who wanted to get a new toilet bowl cleaner from Biden. We are all in great need. Thank you Joe Biden for understanding that having a new toaster is the #1 priority for so many Americans.

Governor Palin's Saturday Night Live Debut

A lot have people have been talking about SNL's humorous Tina Fey impersonation of Governor Sarah Palin this past weekend alongside SNL's Hillary Clinton. It was remarkable how much Fey really did look like Governor Palin.

The skit was funny & it was reported that Governor Palin actually watched the video while on her campaign jet to Nevada. It's good to know that the Governor has a good sense of humor too. It's also funny that after the she saw the sketch one of her first reported reactions was to laugh because the Governor had actually dressed up as Tina Fey for a recent Halloween. Now, they're switching roles, I guess.

Anyway, my only complaint is that Fey played Palin as a simpleton as almost all conservative politicians are played on SNL (with the exception of Vice President Dick Cheney who is also played as an evil Lex Luthor type of super villian).

Terrible Slanders from the Far Left & Obama's Insensitivities on McCain's War Wounds

If you ever needed further reason for why the far left cannot win this election, look no further than the disgusting sleazy & utterly stupid things that Randi Rhodes, a radio talk show host formerly on the far left AirAmerica, said about Senator John McCain & Governor Sarah Palin.

First Rhodes said that John McCain:

"became very friendly with the North Vietnamese. They called him the prince. He was well treated actually. And he was well treated because he traded these propaganda interviews for good treatment."

Rhodes then went on to say that:

"Cindi McCain knew to limit herself to: 'I think that what my husband did in Vietnam was heroic' because she knows the truth too."

You can only imagine what I feel that they should do to someone like Rhodes who would outright mock the torture that John McCain suffered by saying that "He was well treated." The radio stations that play Rhodes need to dump her program or be dumped by the military for mocking the sacrifices that our brave soldiers make to serve America.

But was Rhodes done with that? Of course not. The demented Rhodes went on a few days later to slander Governor Sarah Palin by suggesting that she was a child molester, saying this about her:

She's friends with all of the teenage boys. You have to say no when your kids go 'Can we sleep over (at) the Palins?' 'No! No!'

These kinds of disgusting remarks could only be made by liberals. And the person who made them was considered to be the highest rated liberal radio talk show host on AirAmerica. It shows you that liberals agree with her. What should liberals be doing instead? They should be demanding her head! There is no way any station should continue to air this woman. Period. She is the most vile piece of sewer trash around. I can't make it any clearer.

In addition to Rhodes saying that McCain was enjoy being tortured as a Vietnam P.O.W. for 6 years, Obama himself got into the act this past weekend by releasing a TV ad making fun of McCain who has said that he does not use a computer. Not only does the Obama computer ad insult a heck of a lot of voters who also have a tough time navigating their PCs, many of these are older, high propensity voters as well.

Regardless of his attack on older voters, Obama has really (inadvertently or not) made a bad political move here. And to make matters worse for Obama, we now find out that the reason why McCain doesn't use a computer is because of his war wounds. His wounds make it extremely difficult and painful to type.

Obama has yet to apologize for the ad. So, there's the far left in all of their glory. Making fun of the sacrifices of our men & women in uniform. What's next? Saying that an Iraq war vet who's had his legs amputated due to an IED doesn't know how to run? Just remember which side hates the military & and which side has also spat upon our Vets so often.

Remembering September 11, 2001 - A day that we all changed

My mom woke me up & told me that somebody had bombed the WTC & the Pentagon. I remember how in shock I was that morning. I remember watching the second plane hit the WTC. I couldn't stop staring at the TV that whole day. I don't even recall leaving to go to the bathroom.

I remember how panicked everybody was. The news media was reporting that the State Department & the Sears Towers were also victims of explosions. The information was so slow to come out. So much was inaccurate.

We were all afraid. We knew that we had been attacked. We were afraid that there were more planes with terrorists on them. The FAA grounded every plane in America. I remember how angry I was that day. I remember how afraid I was. I remember how much I wanted vengeance. That day hurt really bad. It was an unexpected punch right in the gut.

Joe Biden admits that Hillary would be Better VP than him

Today, Biden admitted that "Hillary might have been (a) better pick than" him. According to the ABC News blog, made this confession during a campaign rally today. In response to a rally attendee's comment that he was glad that Obama picked Biden over Hillary, Joe Biden responded by saying:

Make no mistake about this. Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be Vice President of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be President of the United States of America. She’s easily qualified to be Vice President of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate, so let’s get that straight.

So, Biden thinks that not only is he less qualifed to be Vice President than Hillary , but that Hillary should actually be President also, which furthers questions about whether or not Obama was the best choice for Democrats.

I'm sure that Obama is really happy with his selection for a Vice Presidential running mate now. The funniest part about what Biden said was that Biden was actually right.

And the Winners Are...

Sorry this took so long to send out, but there was one really close Primary race that kept the election results in doubt. It now appears that we have our winners from the most hotly contested Primary races with the exception of one race for the State House in LD26.

But first, on behalf of the Pima County Young Republican Club, I want to congratulate the candidates who won on Primary Night for running good campaigns. We also want to give kudos to members of our club who worked hard on those winning campaigns.

We also want to thank members of our club who may have worked hard on campaigns that didn't quite make it but fought hard anyway. There were some extremely close races during this Primary Election. In campaigns, there are always winners & losers, and we always hope that the best man or woman wins.

Republican voters in Pima County had many fine candidates from which to choose. And we hope that the best candidates are the ones who ended up winning this last Tuesday. As a club, the Pima County YRs are required to support our Republican candidates once they have won their respective Primary campaigns. So I hope that you all join the club in supporting our candidates onto victory in November.

With all of that said, the most hotly contested races appeared to be the State Senate race in LD26, the State House races in LD26 & LD30, and the Pima County Supervisor race in District 1. The results from these races are as follows:

We congratulate Al Melvin who won a hard fought campaign against State Representative Pete Hershberger to be the Republican candidate for State Senate. Both candidates worked very hard, and we now hope can put their differences behind them & unite in order to beat the Democratic candidate in November.

We also congratulate Vic Williams who won the most votes in the Republican Primary for State House in LD26. Vic has told me that he knocked on over 8500 doors during the Primary campaign - showing how much hard work in campaigns pays off. For the right to join Vic on the November ballot, we have a nail biter between Marilyn Zerull and club member Trent Humphries. I know that Club Vice Chair Michael Cole worked hard on the Humphries campaign. I am still not sure if they are done counting votes, but as of Tuesday, September 09, 2008 at 4:21:07 pm, Marilyn had a 50 lead over Trent. We hope them both the best.

*On an extremely sad side note, Marilyn's husband passed away this past weekend of a heart attack. Our thoughts & prayers go out to her and her family during this extremely difficult time. Marilyn had just recently lost her mother & had to miss many days of campaigning in order to tend to family business.

In the LD30 State House races, we want to congratulate David Gowan who received the most votes in the Republican Primary followed by Frank Antenori. Please do what you can to support both of them make it to the State House & make it harder for Janet Napolitano to get her liberal agenda force fed to Arizona voters.

In the Election for County Supervisor in Supervisorial District 1, we congratulate incumbent Ann Day beat back a fierce insurgent campaign by Joe Higgins. Our Club Treasurer Emily Mitchell worked hard on the Higgins campaign.

I wanted to make this extremely important plea for help on an absolutely critical issue.

Marriage in America is under attack by extreme homosexual activists who want to completely redefine the family.

There are a number of states this year holding very big votes on the issue of protecting marriage. The two states where this issue is probably most important for those of us here in Pima County are the propositions on the ballot right here in Arizona & on the ballot of our large neighbor to the west, California.

In 2006, Arizona became the first & only state in the nation to have rejected a Marriage Amendment. Many have argued that this major defeat for Arizona families was because the amendment on the Arizona ballot in 2006 may have gone too far.

This year the simplified Amendment on the ballot will be PROPOSITION 102. The proposed Amendment to the Arizona Constitution reads as follows:

“Only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this state.”

We must pass PROPOSTION 102 in order to ensure that activist liberal judges cannot force Arizona to recognize the "marriages" of gays & lesbians performed in Arizona or elsewhere.

This year, Arizona needs to vote a resounding "Yes" on Proposition 102!

Since the liberal media and some very well-funded hate groups will be pouring money & resources into the fight against the Arizona Marriage Amendment, Arizonans who want to protect & defend family must give everything they can to help guarantee victory for Arizona families.

I found this article on Drudge. It's an article about a British soldier who was recently told that the British hotel he was trying to stay @ did not allow members of the military to stay there. He was in town to attend the funeral of a fallen comrade & the injured British soldier was forced to sleep in his car.

Our military heroes must always be treated with the utmost respect. Their sacrifices demand that.

We - and the British - do not need another situation like what happened during Viet Nam when soldiers & marines returning home were spat upon.

Halfway through Sarah Palin's speech tonight at the RNC, people following the speech noticed she was deviating from the prepared text.

According to sources close to the McCain campaign, the teleprompter continued scrolling during applause breaks. As a result, half way through the speech, the speech had scrolled significantly from where Governor Palin was in the speech. The malfunction also occurred during Rudy Giuliani's speech, explaining his significant deviations from his speech.

Unfazed, Governor Palin continued, from memory, to deliver her speech without the teleprompter cued to the appropriate point in her speech.

Contrast this to Barack Obama who, when last his teleprompter malfunctioned, was left stuttering before a crowd unable to advance his speech until the problem was resolved.

Making People's Families Political Footballs

Well, the big political news today is that Governor Palin's 17 year-old daugther, Bristol, is 5 months pregnant. For some liberals, this has come out like some kind of scandalous royal family-type of secret like the hidden son who lives in the tower.

But when we really think about what it means, it hits a lot closer to home. Many of us have had to deal with such things in our families or have had to help friends through this kind of thing too. But if we look at Bristol, we see a very young girl who who is probably very scared but with the support of her family appears to be happy. She has made the right choice regarding a situation that would probably not be her preferred one 6 months ago. She has chosen to keep the baby. She has chosen life & plans on marrying the baby's father.

Firstly, abortion would not make Bristol feel any better about the situation. Having the baby, months after her mother had baby #5 shows just how much respect for life the Palin family has. Life should be a fundamental right. But because of Roe v. Wade, it sadly has not been protected as it should be. And infanticide or the mass murder of infants has been ruled as acceptable.

Often times, babies would not be convinient for one reason or another. Or the health of the unborn baby has led some to believe that the baby is somehow better off dead. But both Governor Palin who gave birth to a son with Down Syndrome & Bristol, who we're crossing our fingers will give birth to a healthy baby, have made the right decisions.

The left-wing blogosphere frenzy over Bristol's pregnancy has been dispicable & the announcement of the pregancy was actually made when it was because bloggers on the anti-American DailyKos were actually saying that Governor Palin's 5 month-old was really the son of Bristol in order to cover up Bristol's pregnancy.

Of course, they made this accusation with no proof what-so-ever. And even after the announcement of Bristol's pregnancy, some lefty blognuts are now trying to say that this would really be Bristol's 2nd child, since they don't want to let their original slanderous accusations go. In other words, the farthest left liberal nuts are actually spending their time attacking the 17 year-old pregnant child of a politician.

Well in order to give the whole issue more perspective, I would first go to TIME Magizine online where Nathan Thornburgh of TIME had been sent to the Palins' hometown of Wasilla, Alaska in order to find out more about Alaska's now very famous Governor. It's interesting that he notes how Bristol's pregnancy wasn't even a secret up there. But then again, in small towns word tends to travel very fast. Gossip is a little town's internet.

Regarging attacks on the poor 17 year-old child, I commend Barack Obama for telling people today that:

I have said before and I will repeat again: People's families are off limits. And people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know my mother had me when she was 18 and how a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn’t be a topic of our politics.

And regarding questions about whether his campaign was involved in fomenting the accusations, he said:

I am offended by that statement. There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us," he said. "Our people were not involved in any way in this, and they will not be. And if I thought there was somebody in my campaign who was involved in something like that, they would be fired.

Well, Obama is absolutely right. Well said Senator.

Well, Joe Says Something Else Stupid

This would be listed under "ugh, well, ugh." I don't know how to respond to such comments. Once again, Joe Biden says something that was utterly stupid.

The latest comment when being asked about the lady who is running against him for Vice President, Biden said: “She’s good-looking." Here's the link @ CNN. Biden actually says that a difference between him & Governor Palin is that she's good-looking & he's not.

First of all, how is Governor Palin supposed to debate the guy? He's obviously completely irrational. There are certain lines that you're not supposed to cross when talking about the opposite sex professionally. Obviously, his idiotic comments about race, a few of which are mentioned in previous posts weren't enough. She's supposed to sit down & debate with Joe Biden the fate of the Free World while also worrying if he's looking at her legs!

Now, Biden has gone sexist! He is feeding into the line that what matters most about a woman is how she looks on the outside. Yes, in politics as in everything else, it is important to look professional & presentable. And Governor Palin does look very professional, but whether or not she is physically attractive is absolutely unimportant! Let's get to the important issues. And Joe Biden, stop dreaming about our Vice Presidential candidate!

Fowler Fouls: Hurricane is God's Favor to Democrats

I found this posted on the Drudge Report this morning. Sunday morning. I knew some Democrate would come out saying this.

Here it is:

On a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the Democrats' convention, I found myself seated behind former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina. Their conversation was interesting to say the least.

For example, they made fun of Sarah Palin for several minutes, Fowler calling her "Dan Quayle" on steroids and Spratt creatively describing her as "just terrible." They both agreed that, "Other than the simple fact that she's a female," she has nothing to offer.

Then there was this gem of a moment from Fowler:

Lady Palin?

I think that this pick is extremely risky for Team McCain, but the more I hear about Governor Sarah Palin, the more I like!

I also almost feel like this might be one of those times when we have set our expectations WAY TOO HIGH which only makes it easier to have those expectations crushed by some minor flaw or setback. Can Palin remain in the Super Woman stratosphere that we have elevated her to in just one day? Almost impossible. She will also have the shortest learning curve I've ever seen to get completely acquainted with every single issue that is necessary to survive on the national stage.

But with that said, I can't help but like what I hear about Governor Palin.

So, I will set the expectation even higher & hopefully not to the peril of the McCain/Palin ticket.

Could Sarah Palin one day be America's version of Margaret Thatcher? She is strong and conservative. Governor Palin is patriotic & loves freedom and defending liberty. Will we someday be calling her Lady Palin as an American tribute to Lady Thatcher? But then again, she could end up completely flopping as a Vice Presidential nominee. Only time will tell. as the "American Iron Lady" just as Lady Thatcher was "Britain's Iron Lady"?

Then there's also the part of me that feels that this is just feeding into identity politics. I have always hated hearing people ask about Hillary: "Do you think that people would elect a female President?" My response has always been some version of disgust at the question with some type of "Duh!" And the most important caviat of all, "It's just like America electing a man, a Black, a White, a Jew, or a Christian or anybody else for that matter. It should solely depend on that person's politics and if that person is strong enough to lead America." It appears that Sarah Palin has the strong conservative outlook and is indeed tough enough to be Commander-In-Chief.

It could be one of those patronizing responses when people say that: "Motherhood is the most difficult job in the world." But in all honesty, what could possibly make a person stronger than being a good mother of 5? Well, being a mother of 6 or more. But that's about it.

Governor Palin seems to exude strength and confidence. And Governor Palin appears to be a strong fiscal & social Conservative to boot. I know that she'll just be the Vice President, and execpt for the rare exception of breaking Senate ties as its President, she'll mostly be cutting ribbons & doing other cerimonial things.

The Vice Presidential speculation has reached a fever pitch with the McCain campaign doing multiple head fakes and enjoying watching the media running every which way for the scoop.

Rumors yesterday about Romney and Pawenty. Now today, was there a secret charter plane out of Alaska with Sarah Palin on it?

We will know soon enough, but the media is in a frenzy about the whole thing. Once they have forgotten who Obama was in this frenzy to get the scoop, McCain should be announcing his choice at about 9 am Arizona time.

The Anti-War Left Ain't Gonna Like This

Joe Biden had some very aggressive words during his speech at the DNC tonight regarding the use of the US Military. He mentioned his (and Obama's desire) to send two more combat *batallions to Afghanistan. He also implied possible military action against Pakistan. This was followed by the threat of harsh consequences for Russia for their invasion of Georgia.

My question following Biden's mentioning of these things was how did the extreme anti-war fringe left that controls much of the Democrat Party react to hearing about escalating one war and possibly pushing the US Military into two more conflicts? One of those conflicts would be against a country with thousands of nuclear warheads.

The Democrats have attempted during this Convention to pretend like they don't hate the military, like they don't despise American patriotism & like they don't despise the concept of American Exceptionalism.

In other words, they have attempted to pretend that they are actually Republicans. So my question is this: have the Democrats possibly upset their political base of anti-American & fringe anti-war nutjobs?

It's a possibility. But don't hold your breath. Just remember how the anti-war left bit their tongues when Bill Clinton started bombing in Kosovo from 30,000 feet. The anti-war left would rarely complain about the actions or intentions of a Democrat President. I see Biden's talk to be no different.

But just think of what they'd be saying right now if Joe Biden had an "(R)" after his name.

*Correction: I had originally said about Biden's speech that: "...He mentioned his (and Obama's desire) to send two more combat brigades to Afghanistan." That was incorrect. This is just what I assumed he said when I went off memory because what he actually said seemed so implausible & inconsequential to me. Obama has called for two more brigades in Afghanistan, which have much larger and significant numbers than what Biden called for tonight which was two combat batallions.

By saying that he and Obama wanted "two batallions", Biden was greatly diminishing the amount of military power he would add in Afghanistan in order to hunt down bin Laden. But what Biden did say tonight, whether or not it was just a slip of the tongue, does bring into question the fact that neither Obama nor Biden has served in our military. Yet one will be running for Commander-In-Chief with the other one a single heart beat away from that job. John McCain's military experience really does matter.

VOTE A BIG FAT "NO" ON THE "STOP ILLEGAL HIRING" INITIATIVE!

In November, remember to vote NO on the Initiative titled "Stop Illegal Hiring." Contrary to its dishonest title, this Initiaitve would destroy the Employer Sanctions Laws passed by the legislature during the last two years.

These laws have been critical to helping Arizona try and stop the incentive for employer hiring of illegal aliens. Now that employers know there will be REAL consequences if they knowingly hire illegal aliens in Arizona, employers that have purposefully broken the law in the past are faced with the choices of following the law or going out of business. If businesses must cheat in order to get ahead, then they should not be in business in the first place.

The following talks about the Initiative which is being sponsored by many of the businesses that have hired the most illegal alien labor in the past:

Arizona SIHA Initiative

The Stop Illegal Hiring Act ("SIHA") ballot initiative has been certified by the Arizona Secretary of State. Drafters allege that the SIHA initiative, as its name suggests, would enhance the current Arizona Employer Sanctions Law. However, the title is misleading. The initiative, rather than enhancing, effectively guts the pioneering enforcement mechanisms in Arizona's current law.

The current Arizona law mandates that covered business entities register with the federal E-Verify program. E-Verify allows the employer to quickly and reliably confirm the work authorization status of a new hire online, and makes clear to employers that they are not to hire unauthorized aliens. For noncitizens, it also provides a photo that the business can compare to the identification document presented by the newly hired worker. This feature provides important additional protection against rapidly spreading identity theft crimes.

By making E-Verify use optional, SIHA would strip the Employer Sanctions law of any practical incentive to comply with employer sanctions laws. Prevention of illegal employment is the most effective means of deterring illegal immigration. The SIHA initiative will, if successful, remove the requirement for enrollment in the E-verify program; permit an employer's compliance with the I-9 paperwork process to serve as a non-rebuttable presumption that they have not violated the law; and, thus, limit the statute's effectiveness to employers and employees located in Arizona.

Allowing compliance with the I-9 process to serve as a "non-rebuttable presumption of innocence" will make it much harder to sanction a covered Arizona business owner from employing unauthorized aliens. The I-9 process requires an employer to receive two forms of identification "verifying" that a person has a lawful status, and to maintain a copy of the I-9 form in his file. However, this process is not enforced by the federal government. Therefore, an employer could - if not required to enroll in the E-verify program - accept two falsified forms of documentation from an illegal alien. Granting a "nonrebuttable presumption of innocence" to employers who merely accept false documents and fill out a non-enforceable I-9 form only encourages those employers to continue employing unauthorized aliens in violation of federal law.

Understandably, Arizona voters could easily be tricked into approving this initiative on the false premise that it provides harsher penalties for companies employing illegal aliens. Once enacted through the initiative process, it will be very difficult for the state legislature to amend or improve the law in the future. Activists and elected officials in Arizona need to protect the electorate and the public from the disinformation behind the SIHA initiative.

Fear the Democrats & the Thought of Government-ran Health Care!

Now that we are half through the Democrat Party Convention, we are reminded how important it is to elect John McCain as President & Republican candidates nationwide.

The Democrats want to the government to control our Nation's health care system. Nothing seems more frightening to me than this. Hillary talked a lot about this during her speech & this was a common theme for many of the Democrat speakers.

Can you say scary?

As the great Ronald Reagan said: "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

How can we trust the government controlling health care, the most important aspect of our lives? This one is life or death.

Is Joe Biden a racist or just an idiot?

In order to show that we have entered a United States that has truly gotten past racism, Obama chooses Joe Biden - a blowhard who has made very bizarre racist remarks - as his running mate.

Everyone should remember when Biden made his racist tirade against Americans of Indian decent. While campaigning in 2006, he said:

"You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent."

Why he said this I don't know. But it makes me think that this may be a perfect time for John McCain to pick Bobby Jindal as his running mate. I wonder how much Joe Biden would squirm while confronting the racist question during the VP debate if he were to be sitting across from an American of Indian decent. It will probably put Biden in one of his classic bloviating modes that will just dig him a deeper hole.

Then there was the time during Biden's failed bid for President during the 2008 Democratic primary campaign when Biden attempted to compliment Barack Obama by attacking every black person in America. This is what he said about Obama:

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy."

Um.... Well, I guess that Biden believes that Obama is the first black guy in America to ever take a shower, so maybe that's why he won't have a problem being on the same stage with Obama? And according to Biden, Obama is also the first black guy who can talk too & who even has a brain!

Was Obama trying to sink his own campaign on purpose or were there just so few other options?

I've always called the Democratic Party of America by its true name "The Racist Party of America" & Joe Biden just confirms this. Just when the racists who control the Dem Party seemed to be losing control, they reassert their power in a big way! Joe Biden has a recent history of racist remarks, whether or not he means any harm by his racist rants, does not change this fact.
